Pretreatment

Quality industrial Coaters offers a wide variety of pretreatment capabilities for ferrous, and non-ferrous metals as well plastic parts. For non-Ferrous, our 3 stage Iron Phosphate pretreatment meets federal standard MIL-TTD-490 for Iron phosphate. It cleans, coats, and etches the substrate making it ready for coating. Our Zinc phosphate pretreat system is used for ferrous metals. Our Zinc phosphate meets Federal Standard MIL –TTD-490 type I and II. It cleans, etches, and seals parts making them ready to coat.

Proper pretreatment is so important to the coating process because it’s a huge factor in coating adhesion. If proper pretreatment is not executed prior to coating processes the coating will not adhere to the substrate making for non-useable part.

Our methods for plastic pretreatment are proprietary. However QIC treats all plastic substrates using industry proven methods that insure for proper adhesion and a quality durable finish.
